In addition to these amounts, the Commonwealth also pays approved aged care facilities contribution towards the cost of residential care. The amount of the contribution corresponds to the level of care requirements of the resident.

The Commonwealth subsidy paid to the provider is reduced by the amount of any income tested daily contribution payable by the resident.
