Date amended:

Chief Executive Instructions (CEIs) are critical documents used in managing the risks of inappropriate financial activities. The CEIs complement the Financial Management and Accountability Act 1997 (FMA Act) and its subordinate legislation and impose obligations on officials.

The FMA Act requires transparent, controlled and consistent management of the Commonwealth's financial activities. An important responsibility of corporate governance is the identification of business risks associated with financial activities and the documentation of key controls to mitigate those risks.

The CEIs are maintained by DVAs Financial Management area.
