Preliminary questions [14354]
there is some evidence that pipe smoking may be a factor in the development or worsening of the condition under consideration.14372 — the veteran has established the causal connection between the pipe smoking and VEA service for the clinical onset of the malignant neoplasm of the oral cavity, oropharynx or hypopharynx.
14373 — the veteran has established the causal connection between the pipe smoking and operational service for the clinical onset of the malignant neoplasm of the oral cavity, oropharynx or hypopharynx.

14374 — the veteran has established the causal connection between the pipe smoking and eligible service for the clinical onset of the malignant neoplasm of the oral cavity, oropharynx or hypopharynx.
Clinical onset and operational service [14373]
14375 — the veteran smoked at least 2.5 pack years of pipe tobacco before the clinical onset of the condition under consideration and, where smoking had ceased, the clinical onset of the condition under consideration occurred within 15 years of the cessation.
4911 — the veteran has some period or periods of pipe smoking that are causally related to operational service.
Clinical onset and eligible service [14374]
14377 — the veteran smoked at least five pack years of pipe tobacco before the clinical onset of the condition under consideration and, where smoking had ceased, the clinical onset of the condition under consideration occurred within 10 years of the cessation.
4913 — the veteran has some period or periods of pipe smoking that are causally related to eligible service.
