there is some evidence that drinking maté may be a factor in the development of the condition under consideration.

35441 the veteran has drunk maté on more days than not for an extended period at some time.

35442the veteran has established the causal connection between drinking maté and VEA service for the clinical onset of the malignant neoplasm of the oral cavity, oropharynx or hypopharynx.

the veteran drank maté on more days than not for at least five years before the clinical onset of the condition under consideration, and where such usage has ceased the clinical onset has occurred within fifteen years of cessation.

operational service made a material contribution to the veteran drinking maté on more days than not for at least five years which continued to within fifteen years of the clinical onset of the condition under consideration.

the veteran drank maté on more days than not for at least ten years before the clinical onset of the condition under consideration, and where such usage has ceased the clinical onset has occurred within ten years of cessation.
