Departmental Instructions
1997
- C06/1997 INCREASE IN PAYMENT FOR CCPS MEDICAL FORMS
DATE OF ISSUE: 3 FEBRUARY 1997
INCREASE IN PAYMENT FOR CCPS MEDICAL FORMS
PURPOSE
The purpose of this Departmental Instruction is to advise of the new fee payable for CCPS forms completed by medical practitioners.
NEW FEE PAYABLE
The fees payable for forms completed by medical practitioners is currently $6.60 per form. This includes GARP forms, Medical Report forms and Diagnostic Report forms.
After consultation with the AMA, the Repatriation Commission has determined that the fee payable per form, where the medical consultation/examination was on or after 1st January 1997, will increase to $9.50. Where a medical practitioner has completed and signed a CCPS Medical Report on or after 1 — st January 1997 without needing to examine the client, the new fee of $9.50 is payable.
Until 31 — st March 1997 inclusive, accounts from medical practitioners in respect of medical consultations/examinations or the completion of CCPS Medical Reports before 1 — st January 1997 will still be paid the old fee of $6.60 per form.
With effect from 1 — st April 1997 the rate of $9.50 will be paid even if the old rate has been quoted on the account and irrespective of the date of the consultation/examination. It is advisable that in such instances medical practitioners be advised of the reason for the discrepancy between the rate charged and the amount paid.
Letters generated by CCPS will be amended but in the interim staff will need to manually alter their letters to reflect the new rate. Any non-CCPS generated letters which are used to confirm appointments will also need to be amended to reflect the new rate.
