there is some evidence that exercise of an upper limb may be a factor in the development of the condition under consideration.40427 the veteran's deep vein thrombosis is present in an upper limb.

the veteran engaged in exercise of the affected upper limb for a cumulative period of at least two hours within the seven days before the clinical onset of the condition under consideration. operational service made a material contribution to the veteran engaging in exercise of the affected upper limb for a cumulative period of at least two hours within the seven days before the clinical onset of the condition under consideration. the veteran's engagement in exercise of the affected upper limb for a cumulative period of at least two hours within the seven days before the clinical onset of the condition under consideration, which was materially contributed by operational service, was due to the veteran's serious default, wilful act or serious breach of discipline.
