Commission Guideline
- All the Special Rate criteria or Intermediate Rate criteria must be met at the same point in time within the assessment period. The assessment period:
- begins on the day the formal claim for pension or application for increase in pension is lodged; and
- ends on the day the claim is determined.
- A claim or application is lodged when it is received at an office of the Department of Veterans' Affairs in Australia (see s 5T of the VEA).
