VCES is administered by the Repatriation Commission, with the assistance of a Veterans' Children Education Board (VCEB) in each state. Board members are nominated for the positions and may have experience in education and counselling, or may represent educational, counselling and ex-service organisations. Board members serve in an honorary capacity.
MRCAETS is administered by the MRCC, with the assistance of a Military Rehabilitation and Compensation Act Education and Training Board (MRCAETB) in each state. The VCEB and MRCAETB in each state are comprised of the same members and perform the same functions.
