Clinical onset

Onset may be insidious, particularly if quinoline drugs are involved, or for other agents, may be soon after exposure commenced.  Changes in vision may be noticed or the condition first found on ophthalmological examination.

Clinical worsening

The only worsening factor is for inability to obtain appropriate clinical management.  Appropriate management may include ceasing a drug that has caused toxic retinopathy.
