the condition under consideration is acute necrotising ulcerative gingivitis. the veteran has smoked cigarettes, cigars or pipe tobacco at some time.31943 — the veteran has established the causal connection between the smoking of cigarettes or other tobacco products and VEA service for the clinical onset of gingivitis.
31944 — the veteran has established the causal connection between the smoking of cigarettes or other tobacco products and operational service for the clinical onset of gingivitis.

31945 — the veteran has established the causal connection between the smoking of cigarettes or other tobacco products and eligible service for the clinical onset of gingivitis.

the veteran smoked at least 20 cigarettes per day or the equivalent thereof in other tobacco products for at least one year before the clinical onset of the condition under consideration and, where smoking has ceased, the clinical onset of the condition under consideration has occurred within six months of cessation. smoking as a causal result of operational service made a material contribution to the Statement of Principles requirements for the clinical onset of gingivitis.Clinical onset and eligible service [31945]
the veteran smoked at least 40 cigarettes per day or the equivalent thereof in other tobacco products for at least two years before the clinical onset of the condition under consideration and, where smoking has ceased, the clinical onset of the condition under consideration has occurred within one month of cessation. smoking as a causal result of eligible service made a material contribution to the Statement of Principles requirements for the clinical onset of gingivitis.
