Clinical onset and operational service [31944]

the veteran smoked at least 20 cigarettes per day or the equivalent thereof in other tobacco products for at least one year before the clinical onset of the condition under consideration and, where smoking has ceased, the clinical onset of the condition under consideration has occurred within six months of cessation.

smoking as a causal result of operational service made a material contribution to the Statement of Principles requirements for the clinical onset of gingivitis.

Clinical onset and eligible service [31945]

the veteran smoked at least 40 cigarettes per day or the equivalent thereof in other tobacco products for at least two years before the clinical onset of the condition under consideration and, where smoking has ceased, the clinical onset of the condition under consideration has occurred within one month of cessation.

smoking as a causal result of eligible service made a material contribution to the Statement of Principles requirements for the clinical onset of gingivitis.
