Fracture - Malignant neoplasm involving the bone Factor

A malignant neoplasm involves the bone, and may cause a pathological fracture, if it:

  • arises in the bone eg osteosarcoma
  • spreads to the bone eg secondaries from lung cancer; or
  • involves the bone marrow eg multiple myeloma.
