Rehabilitation services under DRCA have traditionally had a return to work focus for clients who had suffered a service related injury or disease.  Some non-return to work services were provided if they supported a client's independent living needs, or their general functioning. This has mainly entailed the assessment and provision of household and attendant care services, as well as the provision of alterations, modifications and aids and appliances as per section 39 of the DRCA.

The rehabilitation provisions contained in Part III of DRCA may also encompass a full range of rehabilitation needs including a client's medical, psychosocial and vocational needs.
