DEFENCE COMPENSATION ADVICE - NO 29
">Commonwealth Employees Rehabilitation And Compensation Act 1988
">ANNUAL RETURN OF CASES AND PAYMENTS UNDER THE CERC ACT 1988 FOR THE PERIOD 1 JULY 1989 TO 30 JUNE 1990
">1. To facilitate the preparation of the Annual Report by Comcare for the financial year ended 30 June 1990, would you please provide your annual statistical return for the three services seperately, as well as a consolidated return.
2. Your returns should be provided in the format of the attached form and are required by 20 August 1990.
3. The following definitions are provided to assist you in producing your statistics:
- New Cases - are those where both the initial determination and a payment was made during the period 1 July 1989 to 30 June 1990.
- Continuing Cases - are those where a payment was made during the period 1 July 1989 to 30 June 1990 and the initial determination was made before 1 July 1989.
- Where for one case, two or more determinations authorising payments under the one section of the Act are made during the period 1 July 1989 to 30 June 1990, the case is to be recorded under that section as one case. However, where payments for one case are made under seperate sections of the Act, the case is to be counted once under each of those sections.
- Incapacity - no distinction is made between total and partial incapacity or a graduated return to work. However, cases and payments are to be broken up into current and transitionals.
- Injury - includes disease.
- On Duty - includes attendances and ordinary recess injuries.
