All fields on the screen are mandatory, as given the importance of waiving, the state manager must be completely sure he or she has selected the correct account.

FIELD

DESCRIPTION

Account no

The original overpayment recovery account number must be entered here.

Payee type

The type of debtor must be entered here.  It will usually be either 'E' (Employee) or 'P' (Provider).  If neither of these apply, function key F4 will provide a list of other possible codes.

Payee no

The number which identifies the particular debtor.  It will usually be the employee number or service provider number.

Recovery amount

The exact and full amount of the original recovery must be entered here.

Recovery status

Only 'W' (Waiver) should be entered here.

Recovery reason

The reason for the waiver.  The codes are:

  • 'ADM' (administrative error),

  • 'EXC' (exceptional circumstances),

  • 'FAI' (payment received in good faith), and

  • 'HAR' (financial hardship).

Currently the waiver codes do not support the quite rigid criteria for this process.  For example, while a combination of criteria is required to meet one circumstance of waiving, each of the criteria is listed separately here.

Until PRACSYS is amended, the most appropriate code should be selected.

Once the 'WORA' screen is completed and data is committed, either:

  • the original recovery account will automatically adjust to reflect updated details, or

  • a new account, linked to the original, will be created.

This will depend on whether part or all the debt has been waived.
