• Comcare Australia does not accept medical certificates which state 'work related stress.  Additional medical clarification is required.

  • This process is intended to be non-adversarial.  Ensure co-operation of the employee by explaining the benefits of referral to the Provider.  Consultation with the employer is just as important.

  • YOU make the decision on liability.  The Provider must refrain from giving an opinion on whether the claim should be accepted or not.

  • This procedure is designed to be used mainly for cases prior to making a decision on liability.  However, it may also be useful in cases where it is suspected there is a stress-related component to a physical injury or where physical conditions are not responding to conventional rehabilitation intervention.

  • The investigation referral process is independent from the Return to Work initial assessment referral.
