When And How Payments Are Made

PRACSYS is a “payments system” in addition to a “claims management system”.  This is because most of the subsequent decisions made on a claim result in money being issued.

Behind the scenes, after decisions are made processes run to pick up determinations and either issue payments (invoices) or provide advice to employers about what they need to pay to an employee.

Once accounts have a 'verified' status, they are ready to be picked up for the week's payrun, which occurs every Wednesday evening.  This results in a magnetic tape being sent to Comcare's printing firm, Hermes Precisa Australia (HPA), where cheques are printed and mailed the following day.
