Here, practicality rules about what is more cost effective and/or sensible under the circumstances.  For example, it is often more efficient to have an employee fly to attend medical treatment in another city.

It allows him or her to attend the appointment and return within the same day.  Alternatively, travelling by motor vehicle may mean an overnight stay for the employee.  Weighing up cost and time, it may be more practical for the employee to fly rather than drive.

Where possible, flights should be pre-arranged, making use of some quite economical 'payment in advance' rates through Comcare or the employee's Department.
