Not only is compensation payable for the contraction of a condition (that is, one which an employee has never had before), the Act also provides for liability for the:

of a condition, whether the initial condition was pre-existing or resulted from some compensable factor.

Provided the aggravation or acceleration of the condition occurred in compensable circumstances, liability may be found for any worsening of the initial condition.

Where a condition was initially compensable, liability may also be found for a recurrence of that condition.
