If a person lodges a claim for SRDP or if the delegate determines the person is eligible for SRDP at any point in the claim process a case will need to be created so that the decision can be recorded. This is for situations where the SRDP eligibility assessment does not occur at the same time as determining a PI or incapacity claim.

In this situation the case should be created as an incapacity case.  Generally when the person is first put into incapacity payments a single period of incapacity will be created in CADET.  No further periods of incapacity are registered.

To record the outcome of an SRDP eligibility decision a new incapacity case should be registered in CADET.  This should be distinguished as a case created specifically for SRDP assessment by editing the 'claim text' field.

When the case has been created add a new period of incapacity with a date that includes the SRDP eligibility effective date.

When creating the new period of incapacity you can elect to use the previous assessment values for the current investigation by pressing yes to the question below.

You will still need to launch the MRCA Incapacity Calculator (via the investigate button), save the outcome and then press update to record the decision.

Once the incapacity details are completed, you can complete the SRDP screens as per the 'Completing the SRDP screens' section.

CADET needs to be able to recognise that the person is eligible to receive incapacity payments for the period even if the figure calculated is zero.
