If SRDP has been added to a PI workflow, the PI Assessment screen and PI Payment screen must be completed first.  If SRDP has been added to the Incapacity Payment workflow, the Incapacity payment screen must be completed first.  On these screens a 'member' must be a former member.

5.1.1 SRDP screen

This screen is used to record whether or not the person is eligible for SRDP, and if eligible, the effective date of that eligibility.  It does not generate a payment of SRDP.

A person must elect to receive Special Rate Disability Pension in preference to Incapacity and Permanent Impairment payments before SRDP will be paid. If a person elects to take SRDP, this will be registered and processed in CADET as an Election Case Type.

Having eligibility for SRDP will automatically entitle the person to a Gold Card if a treatment path of “card” has been set, irrespective of whether the member subsequently elects to receive SRDP payments.  It is therefore important that the SRDP eligibility date is set appropriately.

There are 4 tests that must be satisfied for a person to be eligible for SRDP. Each test is covered by a question on the SRDP screen.

5.1.2 Member receiving Incap & 50+ impairment points?

These SRDP test questions are answered automatically by CADET.  The CADET text indicates the person must be receiving MRCA incapacity payments – the system will answer yes to this if the payment is nil (eligible but totally offset).  Similarly the system will recognise overall impairment points of exactly 50 points as well as over 50 points.

5.1.3 Member satisfies the work test?

Answer “Yes” to the work test question if the person is limited to 10 hours or less work per week due to impairment for any conditions (whether accepted under MRCA or not). An answer of “Yes” will enable the next question.  Please note that a positive response to the work test question means that the person is not able to work for more than 10 hours per week.

5.1.4 Would the member benefit from Rehabilitation?

Answer “No” only if it has been determined that the person would not benefit from rehabilitation. An answer of “No” will automatically record SRDP Eligibility for the person when the case is finalised. An answer of “Yes” will mean that the person is not eligible for SRDP.

5.1.5 SRDP Eligibility Date field

If the person is eligible for SRDP, you must set the effective date for that eligibility. This will be the date the delegate is satisfied that the person meets the eligibility criteria i.e. the date the delegate makes their decision.

The effective date will be the date of effect for the Gold Card and the MRCA supplement.

5.1.6 Exiting the SRDP screen

When you have finished working in the SRDP screen you can navigate to another screen on the case using the “Next” or “Previous” buttons on the toolbar, or by clicking on one of the other screen tabs in the Case Navigation panel.
