AVERAGE WEEKLY ORDINARY TIME EARNINGS OF FULL-TIME ADULTS (AWOTEFA) UPDATE

1.Sub-section 19(5) of the Safety Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1988 provides for a ceiling on weekly compensation payments for incapacity for work after the first 45 weeks.  We have recently been provided with details of the 18 November 2004 increase.  A further increase is expected in February 2005.  National Office will advise MCRS staff as soon as possible after we are notified of that increase.

2.The ceiling is 150% of the AWOTEFA which is updated quarterly by the Australian Bureau of Statistics.  Details of changes to the AWOTEFA since and including March 1994 are as follows:
