Receiving money due to the client

Section 6(1)(b)(vii)(F) and (viii) extends SRC Act coverage in the case where a member is travelling to, or is at, a place for the purpose of receiving money due to them under the terms of their employment.

This provision is a restatement of the 1971 Act provision, which predated the introduction of automatic tellers and automatic crediting of pays into bank accounts.  There will now only be limited application of this provision, eg. attendance at the Personnel section to receive a travel allowance payment or some sort other employment-related payment outside the normal bank crediting pay arrangements.

Note that, where a payment is made by direct credit to the client's bank account, the money is received as soon as it is credited to the account.  A subsequent trip to an automatic teller to withdraw the money is not covered by the provision.
