It is very useful to be aware of the downside to entry of incorrect data.  There are an abundance of repercussions of incorrect keying that impact on:

  • advice to employers and employees;

  • premium calculations;

  • program costs;

  • statistical data; and

  • familiar work habits and understanding.

The latter point will also impact on advice being provided to other staff in the office.  If what a user is doing is incorrect, when he or she advises others about how to perform certain activities, inaccuracies will carry through to information being provided to others.
