What Is A Redemption?
- An Employee'S Level Of Incapacity
External
In making a decision about the level of an employee's incapacity, the following claim details will need to be assessed:
-
Return to Work Plans (RTWPs) which have been completed. This may provide some idea on the expected outcome of the claim and any possible future improvement or deterioration in the employee's condition;
-
where there is no RTWP, then consideration of the employee's suitability for rehabilitation before a decision is made regarding possible changes in the level of incapacity. It may be the case that the level of an employee's incapacity could be reduced by rehabilitation;
-
use of historical incapacity determinations. If the employee has not changed his or her level of incapacity for some time, this could be an indicator that it is not likely to change in the future.
However, if records show intermittent periods of total incapacity, then this may indicate that the level of incapacity is likely to change and a redemption would not be appropriate at this time; and
-
any medical evidence.
