Section 137 (1) is similar to 30 (1).  It states:

“If:

(a)a relevant authority is liable to make weekly payments of compensation to a former employee in respect of an injury resulting in an incapacity; and

(b)the amount of those payments if (sic) $62.99per week or less; and

(c)the relevant authority is satisfied that the degree of the former employee

's incapacity is unlikely to change;

the relevant authority must, on written request by the former employee, make a determination that its liability to make further payments to the former employee be redeemed by the payment to the former employee of a lump sum.”

Where criteria (a), (b) and (c) are met by a claim, and the former employee has made a request in writing for redemption of further incapacity entitlements, a determination should be made that a redemption is payable.
