Commonwealth Employees' Compensation Act 1930

The Commonwealth Employees' Compensation Act 1930 (No.24/1930) (“the 1930 Act”) provided workers compensation coverage for Commonwealth Government employees, including employees of Commonwealth statutory authorities, between 10 November 1930 and 31 August 1971.

The 1930 Act was succeeded by the Compensation (Commonwealth Government Employees) Act 1971 (No 48/1971) (“the 1971 Act”), which applied between 1 September 1971 and 30 November 1988, and then by the Commonwealth Employees' Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1988 (No 75/1988) which applies after 1 December 1998.  This Act was subsequently renamed the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1988 (“the 1988 Act” or “the SRC Act”).

The 1930 Act was preceded by the Commonwealth Workmen's Compensation Act 1912 (“the 1912 Act”).
