Ad hoc reports are available through the Business Information Unit (BIU) in the Corporate Centre for a wide variety of specialised reporting requirements.

If no existing reports are suitable, ad hoc reports can be compiled based on customised field selections.  However, these must correlate to fields within PRACSYS and must be as specific as possible.

Example

A report is required by a state office detailing:

all overpayments for which recovery was effected for the previous year;

for a specific provider;

a specific service;

and a specific amount.

The request should initially clearly indicate what the report is required for.  It should then specify, field label by field label, the order the report is required to be compiled by.

BIU have specific form requirements and the form itself is available on the Server in the Key to Quality (KtQ) folder.  To access the form and instructions:

  • select the KtQ folder;

  • open the folder and select 'Reporting';

  • open the folder and select 'Ad Hocs';

  • 'Ad hoc request form' and the 'Guide/common data ad hocs' should each be selected.

The actual report request will need to be completed on the 'Ad hoc request' proforma (example at Appendix 20) and then 'saved as' the name of the title of the respective report request.

It may be useful to also read the 'Information Bulletins' folder before preparing a report request for the first time.

Once the request has been completed, it can be emailed through to BIU.
