Different types of evidence can be used to assist making decisions on the liability of claims for compensation.  The processes of investigation and use of evidence will be ongoing ones for most complex claims, with these processes forming an integral part of the claim management cycle.

Evidence used as part of a review may include:

  • medical certificates;

  • reports (medical and other);

  • rehabilitation reports;

  • hospital notes;

  • employer records;

  • Australian Government Health Services (AGHS) government medical officer reports;

and on infrequent occasions:

  • surveillance reports.
