Procedure
Purpose of ad hoc reviews

This group of review types has since been introduced following the original implementation of DRS to deal with:

  • ad hoc review exercises which may occur from time to time as a result of new initiatives, e.g. rent assistance for war widows/widowers, or
  • managing cases previously generated by the $FORT runs, such as the annual allocated income stream exercises.
What is special about ad hoc reviews

Ad hoc reviews differ from specific and compliance reviews in that they can be initiated at either the national or local level, by any person with the appropriate security access. They are different from specific reviews in that they can be loaded in bulk into DRS for a select group of clients, e.g. assessments with rent assistance. The ad hoc review facility can be used to generate bulk letters for a group of clients, without registering a CMS case.

CMS cases registered through DRS

The CMS case type Special Review is registered for an ad hoc review type. Selecting an ad hoc review may or may not result in the registration of a CMS case, depending on the review reason selected.

Ad hoc review reasons

The following table lists the review reasons currently used for ad hoc reasons. This list is intended to be a guide only, as over time the reasons available are likely to change, i.e. some reasons may become redundant and others may be added.
