Diagnosis

Malignant neoplasm (cancer) and pulmonary tuberculosis

A diagnosis for malignant neoplasm (cancer) and pulmonary tuberculosis is required from a general practitioner (GP) or specialist.

Proof of identity

A client’s identity should be established prior to the grant of non-liability health care (NLHC).

Depending on the client’s history with DVA this may include either a full (standard) or modified (non-standard) proof of identity (POI) check.

POI documents can be accepted by email for non-liability health care applications.

For information on POI requirements refer to:

Bank account details and tax file numbers

The delegate should obtain payment details by phoning the client. Non-liability health care (NLHC) can be granted without the client’s payment (bank) details.

Alternatively the D2050 Bank Account Details Form can be sent to the client.

NLHC does not require a client’s tax file number (TFN).

The delegate must ensure payment details are followed up using the tasks function in R&C ISH.

Once received, the delegate must enter the bank details into R&C ISH.
