When Disability Compensation Payment (DCP) is paid in respect of incapacity for several VEA conditions, a notional assessment is required to determine what portion of the DCP is paid in respect of the compensable condition.
Only one accepted condition - the notional assessment is the entire DCP.
Chapter 19 of GARP V requires a delegate to 'apportion off' any relative contribution of the incapacity that is not entirely due to the effects of a person's accepted condition (s). This action is performed by the IL delegate during the initial claim process or if an application for increase is lodged.
Chapter 3 of the GARPS
The tables in Chapter 3 of the GARPs are used to assess the motor function of the spine and limbs. Sensory loss is assessed under Chapter 5. Assessments of service-related spine conditions under Chapter 3 involve more than just an assessment of the spine function and in many cases, will involve an assessment of lower limb function.
