1 March 2004

THE FOLLOWING RMA SOPS ARE TO BE GAZETTED ON 3 MARCH, 2004

Revocations & Replacements

Malignant Neoplasm of the Colorectum

Amendments

Hypertension

IMPORTANT OPERATIONAL FEATURES

Hypertension

Amendment – 3 & 4 of '04

Amends 35 and 36 of '03

This is an amendment to the alcohol factors in the Hypertension SOPs.  The words “for a continuous period of at least 6 months” have been added and the other wording slightly re-organised without change in meaning.  This now gives a period over which the alcohol intake can be calculated.

Malignant Neoplasm of the Colorectum

Revocation – 1 & 2 of '04

Replaces 58 and 59 of '02

There are two new causal factors for RH only.  The first is for inability to consume specified amounts of “fibre in food” over a continuous period of five years, with an associated definition of “fibre in food”.  The definition does not include fibre in fortified foods or supplements.

The second is for inability to consume specified amounts of “folate in food” over a continuous period of five years, with an associated definition of “folate in food”.  The definition does not include folic acid in fortified foods or supplements.

There is a new factor for atomic radiation with doses of 0.05 Sv for RH, .5 Sv for BOP.

The physical inactivity has been re-worded with no change in meaning.  This factor will be similarly re-worded in all SOPs as they are reviewed.

# fibre and folate – yum!
