Pharmaceutical Benefits

Pharmaceutical Benefits are prescription pharmaceuticals that are available to pensioners and beneficiaries through the Commonwealth Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS)  or the Repatriation Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (RPBS) at a concessional rate.

 

 

The Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) is a scheme established to make pharmaceuticals available to DVA and Centrelink pensioners and beneficiaries at concessional rates.

The Repatriation Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (RPBS) is a scheme established to make pharmaceuticals available to certain veterans, war widows/widowers and dependants at concessional rates.  Those persons who hold the gold Repatriation Health Card - For All Conditions or the orange Repatriation Pharaceutical Benefits Card can obtain pharmaceuticals under the scheme for all their medical conditions.  Those persons who hold the white Repatriation Health Card - For Specific Conditions can only obtain pharmaceuticals under the scheme for their accepted disabililties. Note that Commonwealth and allied veterans who only hold a White Card are not eligible for RPBS under the VEA.
