Concessional safety net

The concessional safety net is the maximum amount that any one pensioner or family unit will have to pay for concessional rate prescription items in a calendar year.  Once the safety net limit has been reached, Repatriation Pharmaceutical Benefit Scheme (RPBS) prescriptions are supplied free of charge to the pensioner or family unit for the rest of the calendar year, providing the doctor prescribes the lowest priced brand prescription item.
