Close relative
In relation to deprivation related farm transfers, a close relative means the pensioner's:
- father;
- mother;
- son;
- daughter;
- brother; or
- sister
This definition may be extended by Commission to include other family members who have worked unrewarded on the farm.
According to Section 179 of the VEA, the Commission is a body corporate under the name of Repatriation Commission.
According to section 5L of the VEA a family member, in relation to a person, means:
- the partner, father or mother of the person, or
- a sister, brother or child of the person, or
- another person who, in the Commission's opinion, should be treated as one of these relations for the purposes of this definition.
