IMPORTANT OPERATIONAL FEATURES

as amended by 69 and 70 of '02

  • Herbicides factor / definition
  • In the RH SOP this factor now covers a wider range of chemicals and activities and it now has a 30 day exposure requirement (previously any exposure).
  • In the BOP SOP the factor has been deleted.
  • The being in Vietnam factor in the RH SOP now includes being on a vessel and consuming potable water distilled from estuarine Vietnamese waters.
  • The animal fat factor has been modified.  It now requires a lower minimum daily intake (50 gm v 70gm) and the increased intake now has to occur for a shorter period (now 5 yrs RH, 10 yrs BOP: previously 20 yrs RH, 25 yrs BOP), BUT, the increased intake now has to be maintained for 5 yrs/10yrs within the 25 years before disease onset.
