Comments on SOP amendments incorporated into CCPS
The SOP factors for ischaemic heart disease, cardiomyopathy, hyperthyroidism, chronic bronchitis with pulmonary obstruction, and emphysema have been combined in CCPS into one contention called Suffering a specified disease at the time of clinical onset of atrial fibrillation.
Chronic sinusitis
The SOP factor for impaired drainage of the sinus has been split into two contentions in CCPS. The Impaired drainage of the sinus contention covers almost all the situations described by the RMA definition, and will be the contention most frequently used. The Impaired drainage of the sinus due to an event on service contention is to be used only in the unlikely event that the impaired drainage is the result of a foreign body such as shrapnel. This type of situation is treated differently in CCPS because it requires a different set of rules to investigate the relationship of the event to service.
