IMPORTANT OPERATIONAL FEATURES
Otitis media |
- This new SOP covers all forms of inflammation of the middle ear. There are no particular noteworthy features.
Allergic rhinitis |
Revocation – 03 & 04 of '03 Replaces 65 and 66 of '95 |
- The definition has been reworked, but this has no operational effect.
- Previously included worsening factors, covering being immuno-compromised, drugs and hypothyroidism, have been removed. These factors promoted non-allergic rhinitis (non-SOP), so it was not appropriate to retain them in the allergic rhinitis SOP.
- The allergen exposure factors and accompanying definition now require identification of a specific causative allergen. The old “immediately before” requirement has become “within the 24 hours before”.
Remember! If you are having any problems with SOPs, or SOPs in CCPS, talk to us!
