Enhancements of CCPS rulebases and commentary
Sensorineural hearing loss and Tinnitus
The text of the Exposure to high noise levels hotword has been enhanced to include more examples of military occupations where there is likely to be a high level of noise exposure – at least to the level of 85 dBA – on any given day, within the normal work environment. This information is contained in a new hotword called Physical requirements, duties, and workplace hazards of specific military occupations. The text of the Examples of noise sources and measured noise levels has also been revised. Research into this topic is continuing and further enhancements are planned.
Obesity
A small change has been made to the text of the hotword An environment which encourages caloric intake. This change reflects the view of the Policy, Eligibility and Research section that there can be other than physical conditions to an environment. Thus, a psychiatric condition could be part of the set of circumstances in which the veteran lives thus becoming his environment. Psychiatric conditions can sometimes lead to alcohol abuse and the excessive intake of alcohol can sometimes result in obesity.
