RELEASE NOTES - CCPS VERSION 2009/12

Version 2009/12 of the Medical Knowledge Base for CCPS was released into production today.  This Bulletin provides a summary of the amended SOPs that this version of CCPS incorporates.

Fibrosing interstitial lung disease

  • The way this SOP is incorporated into CCPS is that some of the SOP factors appear as they do in the SOP, and some factors have been split into several CCPS contentions.  This is explained on the Contention Management Screen Policy window.

Schizophrenia

  • All the new factors have been incorporated as below line.

SOP amendments incorporated into CCPS

For information on the following SoPs refer to SoP Bulletin No. 134 of 4 May 2009

Bipolar disorder

  •    New severe childhood abuse factor in both SOPs
  • The specified drug lists have been updated.
  • The cessation or reduction of illicit drugs or therapeutic drugs has been updated to cessation of antidepressants only.

Macular degeneration

  • New consuming alcohol factor now in both SOPs
  • New being obese factor in the RH SOP.
  • There are new worsening factors for all smoking types.
  • The cataract surgery factor and a new anticoagulant or thrombolytic therapy factor are restricted for late onset macular degeneration only.

Bronchiectasis

  • New Gastro-oesophageal factor in the RH SOP.
  • New exposure to arsenic factor in RH SOP.

Ischaemic heart disease

For information on the following SoPs refer to SoP Bulletin No.135 of 29 June 2009

  • Both SOPs now have 'a clinically significant anxiety disorder' as specified at the time of onset/worsening.  This now includes new conditions of posttraumatic stress disorder, anxiety due to a medical condition, and anxiety disorder not otherwise specified in addition to the previous panic disorder and phobic anxiety conditions.

  • These factors still only apply to ischaemic heart disease in the forms of angina and myocardial infarction, or for sudden death from ischaemic heart disease.

Personality disorder

  •         The new definition for 'severe childhood abuse' has been incorporated.

  • All these conditions have had some revision of hotwords to update to current wording preferences.

Malignant neoplasm of the lung

  • The silicosis factor has had some changes to the Rulebase and hotword to indicate that the type of silicosis now needs to be identified   Acute silicosis is non-SoP, whereas chronic, and talc silicosis are both covered by the FILD SoP.

Additional amendments

A number of additions were made to the commonly claimed conditions encoder to assist in finding conditions following the changes from recent SoP issues.  Additional entries for hard to find conditions have also be included, of note are the following:

Fibrosing Interstitial Lung Disease

  • Large number of new entries for all conditions covered by this SoP, in a number of variations.  Plus entries for all conditions identified as factors.

Macular degeneration

  • Entries to identify late or early age related types.

Physical injury due to munitions discharge, cut, stab, abrasion and laceration

  • Entries now for each body part under new 'cut or stab', and 'laceration or abrasion' listings.

Mitral valve prolapse

  • Wording changed to make it clear that selection is SoP condition.  Plus new entry for floppy mitral valve.

Eating disorder

  • Entries for anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and new listings for combinations of binge eating, and eating disorders.

Sclerosis – Systemic and Localised

  • Entries for scleroderma and sclerosis changed and additions made to identify the types as systemic or localised.
