Comment category |
This field provides the first or major level that comments fall into. Common law and third party comments are part of the 'L' (Damages) category. All comments are categorised so they are easier to find when a user later wants to read them. |

Comment code |
More specific types of comment are housed against codes. For common law and third party comments, 'COM' (Common law/third party) should be selected. |

Status/Date created |
In all cases when creating comments, this field will default to 'A' (active), as it is illogical to create an inactive comment. Both 'Status' and 'Date created' do not apply here. |
Once the correct criteria have been selected and committed, a blank screen will be provided for comments to be entered. Space for comments is unlimited and allows for entry of comments that are both comprehensive and clear.
NB In all cases, it must be remembered that claim comments can be requested under the Freedom of Information Act. Therefore great care must be taken to ensure that comments are professional.
