10.7.12 Provision of hearing aids

As per the Treatment Principles [1], hearing aids can be provided through a client’s DVA Health Card. Hearing aids cannot be provided through the rehabilitation provisions. Clients with a DVA Health Card for all Conditions (Gold Card) or a DVA Health Card (White Card) for conditions that include hearing loss can access a range of support and services including:

  • provision of hearing aids through the Office of Hearing Services;

  • provision of Alternative Listening Devices through the Rehabilitation Appliances Program (RAP); and

  • provision of support for tinnitus through the DVA Tinnitus Program, if tinnitus is an accepted condition on the DVA Health Card.
