Last reviewed for CCPS 16 December 2009.
Preliminary questions [27473]
27657 [1] there is some evidence that aspiration pneumonitis may be a factor in the development or worsening of the condition under consideration.
27658 [1] the veteran has had aspiration pneumonitis at some time. 27662 — aspiration pneumonitis means inflammation of the lungs with clinical or radiological evidence of consolidation due to the deposition of a foreign substance (such as food particles, oral secretions or gastric contents) into the respiratory tract. 27660 — the veteran has established the causal connection between aspiration pneumonitis and VEA service for bronchiectasis. 27661 — the veteran has established the causal connection between aspiration pneumonitis and VEA service for the clinical onset of bronchiectasis. 27666 — the veteran has established the causal connection between aspiration pneumonitis and eligible service for the clinical onset of bronchiectasis. or 27665 — the veteran has established the causal connection between aspiration pneumonitis and operational service for the clinical onset of bronchiectasis. or 27664 — the veteran has established the causal connection between aspiration pneumonitis and VEA service for the clinical worsening of bronchiectasis. 27668 — the veteran has established the causal connection between aspiration pneumonitis and eligible service for the clinical worsening of bronchiectasis. or 27667 — the veteran has established the causal connection between aspiration pneumonitis and operational service for the clinical worsening of bronchiectasis. Clinical onset and operational service [27665] 27762 — the identified illness or injury, a kind of aspiration pneumonitis, is causally related to operational service. [5] [6] Clinical onset and eligible service [27666] 27763 — the identified illness or injury, a kind of aspiration pneumonitis, is causally related to eligible service. [8] [6] Clinical worsening and operational service [27667] 27762 — the identified illness or injury, a kind of aspiration pneumonitis, is causally related to operational service. [10] [6] Clinical worsening and eligible service [27668] 27763 — the identified illness or injury, a kind of aspiration pneumonitis, is causally related to eligible service. [13] [6]
