the veteran had smoked at least 5 cigarettes per day or the equivalent thereof in other tobacco products for at least 5 years before the clinical onset of subarachnoid haemorrhage with at least some smoking being maintained in the 10 years before the clinical onset of subarachnoid haemorrhage.
