Priority to cases involving income reductions.

In the interim it is imperative that cases involving an aged care resident be given high processing priority status if a person:

  • has entered aged care after on or after 1 March 1998; and
  • is on a reduced rate of pension; and
  • has requested a reduction in the income (including income from income producing assets) held in the assessment.  In accordance with VEA rules, the date of effect for changes in income is the payday following advice of a change in circumstances.
