7.8.4 Alternative methods of recovery
7.8.4.1 — If a full or discounted cash refund is not possible, then a part lump sum repayment with regular instalments should be considered. If a full/discounted or part lump sum repayment is not feasible, then negotiations with the debtor should commence to effect recovery of the debt by regular instalments.
7.8.4.2 — These instalments can be in the form of:
- limitations from pension if the debtor is in receipt of continuing payments from DVA or Centrelink; or
- cash instalments if the debtor is not in receipt of continuing payments from DVA or Centrelink.
