What is a Transport Concession Card (TC1)
The Transport Concession Card (TC1) provides concession fares for NSW public transport for war widows/widowers who do not hold a Pensioner Concession Card. The TC1 is issued by DVA on behalf of the NSW Government. The current TC1 is valid until 31 December 2021.

Eligibility for the TC1
War widows/widowers not in receipt of service pension, income support supplement or a social security pension paid by DVA or Services Australia (Centrelink) are eligible to receive a TC1 if they reside in New South Wales. For further information see the NSW website.
A war widow/widower is generally a person who immediately before their partners death, was the partner of, or was legally married to:
- a veteran; or
- a person who was a member of the forces; and
- who is receiving:
- a war widow's/widower's pension; or
- a pension that is payable under the law of a foreign country that is, in the opinion of the Commission, similar to a war widow's/widower's pension.
