14.8.11 Closing a plan

Once a support plan has been closed, there is no mechanism to pay for activities. Plans should only be closed once all services have been paid and the support is no longer required, or the plan end date has passed.

The delegate may, in response to a recipient’s request, notice from a Case Manager, or based on information available to them, determine that a support plan should cease. Examples of when this may occur include, but are not limited to, when:

  • a recipient no longer requires services;
  • a recipient withdraws from their program.

Prior to determining a support plan is to close, the delegate must:

  • consider if other supports are required; and
  • have consulted the Case Manager regarding the proposed action to close the support plan.

The Case Manager and/or Delegate may consult with the recipient regarding the proposed closure.
