Preliminary questions [31969]
there is some evidence that cumulative inhalation of respirable asbestos fibres may be a factor in the development of the condition under consideration.31977 — the veteran has established the causal connection between cumulative inhalation of respirable asbestos fibres and VEA service for the clinical onset of adenocarcinoma of the kidney.
31978 — the veteran has established the causal connection between cumulative inhalation of respirable asbestos fibres and operational service for the clinical onset of adenocarcinoma of the kidney.
or
31979 — the veteran has established the causal connection between cumulative inhalation of respirable asbestos fibres and eligible service for the clinical onset of adenocarcinoma of the kidney.
Clinical onset and operational service [31978]
31980 the veteran inhaled respirable asbestos fibres for a cumulative period of at least 1000 hours at the time when material containing such fibres was being applied, removed, dislodged, cut or drilled.
the veteran inhaled respirable asbestos fibres for a cumulative period of at least 1000 hours at the time when material containing such fibres was being applied, removed, dislodged, cut or drilled before the clinical onset of the condition under consideration. operational service made a material contribution to the veteran inhaling respirable asbestos fibres for a cumulative period of at least 1000 hours at the time when material containing such fibres was being applied, removed, dislodged, cut or drilled before the clinical onset of the condition under consideration. where operational service materially contributed to the veteran inhaling respirable asbestos fibres for a cumulative period of at least 1000 hours at the time when material containing such fibres was being applied, removed, dislodged, cut or drilled before the clinical onset of the condition under consideration, the first such inhalation on operational service commenced at least 10 years before the clinical onset of the condition under consideration.Clinical onset and eligible service [31979]
the veteran inhaled respirable asbestos fibres for a cumulative period of at least 2000 hours at the time when material containing such fibres was being applied, removed, dislodged, cut or drilled. the veteran inhaled respirable asbestos fibres for a cumulative period of at least 2000 hours at the time when material containing such fibres was being applied, removed, dislodged, cut or drilled before the clinical onset of the condition under consideration. eligible service made a material contribution to the veteran inhaling respirable asbestos fibres for a cumulative period of at least 2000 hours at the time when material containing such fibres was being applied, removed, dislodged, cut or drilled before the clinical onset of the condition under consideration. where eligible service materially contributed to the veteran inhaling respirable asbestos fibres for a cumulative period of at least 2000 hours at the time when material containing such fibres was being applied, removed, dislodged, cut or drilled before the clinical onset of the condition under consideration, the first such inhalation on eligible service commenced at least 15 years before the clinical onset of the condition under consideration.
