A condition which may give rise to neovascularisation of the iridocorneal angle

Open-angle glaucoma - A condition which may give rise to neovascularisation of the iridocorneal angle Factor

Neovascularisation means the growth of new vessels, and the iridocorneal angle is the angle formed where the iris meets the cornea. The RMA states that a condition giving rise to neovascularisation of the iridocorneal angle means one of the conditions set out below:

  • Central retinal vein obstruction of the affected eye;
  • Central retinal artery obstruction of the affected eye;
  • Diabetic retinopathy of the affected eye;
  • Ipsilateral carotid artery occlusive disease;
  • Retinal detachment of the affected eye;
  • Intraocular tumour of the affected eye;
  • Radiotherapy involving the affected eye.

If the veteran had neovascular glaucoma, the underlying condition will have been identified.

Neovascularisation of the Iridocorneal Angle
PRELIMINARY QUESTIONS [26669]

26670 there is some evidence that a condition giving rise to neovascularisation of the iridocorneal angle may be a factor in the development of the condition under consideration.

26671 the condition under consideration is a neovascular glaucoma.

26672 the veteran has suffered from a condition giving rise to a neovascularisation of the iridocorneal angle at some time.

26673 the veteran has suffered from a condition giving rise to a neovascularisation of the iridocorneal angle of side and site of the body at some time.

26674 the veteran was suffering from a condition giving rise to neovascularisation of the iridocorneal angle of side and site of the body before the clinical onset of the condition under consideration.

26675 the condition which gave rise to neovascularisation of the iridocorneal angle of side and site of the body, which the veteran was suffering before the clinical onset of the condition under consideration, is an illness or injury which is identifiable.

26676  the veteran has established the causal connection between the condition which gave rise to neovascularisation of the iridocorneal angle and VEA service for the clinical onset of the condition under consideration.

26677   the veteran has established the causal connection between the condition which gave rise to neovascularisation of the iridocorneal angle and operational service for the clinical onset of the condition under consideration.

or

26678   the veteran has established the causal connection between the condition which gave rise to neovascularisation of the iridocorneal angle and eligible service for the clinical onset of the condition under consideration.

CLINICAL ONSET AND OPERATIONAL SERVICE [26677]

26679  the identified illness or injury, a condition which gave rise to neovascularisation of side and site of the body, is causally related to operational service.

CLINICAL ONSET AND ELIGIBLE SERVICE [26678]

26680  the identified illness or injury, a condition which gave rise to neovascularisation of side and site of the body, is causally related to eligible service.
